The past is witness to the medicines that are found in nature. Since pharmaceutical companies are not yet in existence, our forefathers resort to their knowledge of plants and herbal medicines to cure a sick friend. Indeed, healing can be found at nature and we are only to lucky to know it now.

One type of herbal medicine is the Lagundi plant. Lagundi plant is for the relief of cough among adults and children suffering from cough and its side effects. Lagundi leaves can be taken as tea by boiling the leaves in water. It is the best alternative to relieve cough in patients as it does not have any side effects.

Sambong leaves on the other hand are anti-diuretic meaning it is taken for the relief of urination among people suffering from blocked kidneys. Sambong helps in flushing down easily crystals that had been trapped in the kidney opening to prevent swelling and kidney failure in the long run. Sambong is also a quick relief of groin pain and back pains due to difficulty in urinating.

Malunggay leaves are best for mothers who are lactating. It has been proven that effects of continuous intake of Malunggay increases milk in a mothers mammary glands thus enabling her to breastfeed her child more often. Malunggay leaves can be boiled in water and drank by the mother. It is also best enjoyed as a tea and an ingredient in a meal. Malunggay soups are also advisable as lactating mothers need to take lots of fluids during periods of breastfeeding.

Ampalaya or bitter gourd is a vegetable known to aid in lowering the sugar levels found inside our bodies. It is a good maintenance drug for people suffering from Diabetes. Research found that continuous intake of Ampalaya can stabilize or help in lowering the bodys sugar levels. Ampalaya plant is not only an herbal medicine but it is also a vegetable that can be taken in meals. - 20761
